Welcome to Nature Nerd Wednesdays, your mid-week nature break to reconnect with the calming, refreshing, and inspiring effects of nature. Take a deep breath and enjoy...
We expect winter to bring biting cold weather, glittering frost, and brilliant sunshine. With temperatures in the 50's and plenty of warm rain, January 2015 in the Seattle area has so far been anything but typical. If you're feeling a little unsettled and missing the normal January weather, take a look at the beautiful video below featuring characteristically gelid, sparkling winter scenery and a cute fuzzy little critter.
Nature 365: January 20, 2015 from FollowFocus on Vimeo.
Frozen branches, dripping icicles, and sparkling winter sunshine sure make for a breathtaking sight. And how wonderfully familiar is the whispered dripping and pattering sound of melting ice falling from branches onto the snow below.
This video was created by Nature365,
a web documentary project by Jim Brandenburg and Laurent Joffrion which
captures 365 "moments of nature" - one for each day of 2015. The video
above was released yesterday, which just so happened to be my
birthday. What a gorgeous birthday treat!
