Falls Creek Falls in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Lainey Piland photo

The Pacific Northwest is renowned for its spectacularly lush green forests filled with tall trees and damp moss, and many of these enchanted, verdant wonderlands are located within the boundaries of a National Forest. Our region's National Forests contain some truly beautiful and unique forest landscapes, which you can get a small taste of in the timelapse film below.

What a breathtaking nature escape! Don't you just want to run out into the woods now?

A few posts on this blog feature hikes in Washington state's National Forests:

Musings: Before and After (Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest)

Wanderings: In Search of Old Growth (Gifford Pinchot National Forest)
